Jan Boardman loves to paint, teach and putter in her Bountiful, Utah studio. Over the last 35 years, by means of oils, watercolors, pastels, clay and wood she has explored a gamut of creation and subject matter. Her paintings, hanging in homes, prominent business offices and government buildings throughout the intermountain west have won both hearts and awards due to their tangible expressions of the surrounding world and humanity.
These representations range from the red rock of Lake Powell, to the stature of LDS Temples and The Utah State Capitol, from a dilapidated potting shed, to the chaos of a boy’s closet, from New England covered bridges, to rural Idaho fields, where she was born.
Jan graduated from the the University of Utah with a B.A. in English and Literature. She has always loved creative writing and feels that much of the written expression seeps into the visual reflections of her art. What she creates is deep-felt and authentic, expressing her interest and curiosity in the stories of our lives. She exhibits at The Ramble Gallery on Historic Bountiful Main Street, and she welcomes commissions.
